Thought this might be of interest to members of
LEWES BOROUGH BONFIRE SOCIETY.

I have just been looking through some old photos, and that made me look at your website.  I thought that someone might remember me..in particular Mrs Over....These photos were taken about 37 years ago.  My name then was Theresa Miller, and Ted took me under his wing..the horns on my head dress were given to me by Ted,  I used to go torchmaking out at the Winters farm every year and I used to go to all the local bonfires on the coach.  In the group picture as you look at it, at the back is Ted Over, then me, then a father & son who I think came from Brighton, then Brian Beckinham ????, front row, small child on end, dont know, then my brother Malcolm Miller who must have been about 5 years old and my sister Louisa Miller who was about 3.  I remember very well how I was looked after at all the events and have very many happy memories, not least of which were the annual dinner & dances at the town hall.  I wonder if any of your older members remember me.  My brother has remained a strong member of the Cliffe Bonfire, although he is at present working in Canada.  My parents still live in Lewes in the same house where the picture of me on my own was taken. I have lived in Lancing for the past 34 years.
